Khabarak is a news aggregation application operated by Pick Wisely.
This policy explains what data the app processes, why it is processed, and how users can contact us.
Data we process
- Anonymous device identifier: generated locally to distinguish one installation from another.
- Push notification token: collected only when the user grants notification permission.
- Language preference: used to register the device with the backend and serve Arabic-first content.
- Saved articles and search history: stored locally on the device for app functionality.
- Article interaction events: read, save, and share actions may be sent to the backend with the anonymous device identifier to improve trending content.
- Advertising data: if advertising is enabled in a production build, ad providers such as AppLovin MAX and mediated partners may process device and ad request data under their own policies.
How we use the data
- Deliver article feeds and article details.
- Send breaking news notifications to devices that opted in.
- Allow users to save articles and keep local search history.
- Measure anonymous engagement signals for product features such as trending articles.
- Display advertising if enabled in the app.
Storage and sharing
- Saved articles, theme preference, onboarding status, and search history are stored locally on the user device.
- Device registration and article interaction events are sent to our backend.
- Push notification delivery uses Expo/Firebase infrastructure.
- Advertising, when enabled, may involve third-party ad networks.
User choices
- Users can decline push notification permission.
- Users can remove saved articles and local search history from the app.
- Users can contact us to request deletion or clarification regarding backend-linked data associated with their device installation.
Children
Khabarak is not designed specifically for children.
